The festival which took place in Souvenance,Haiti saw many voodoo worshipers gather to invoke the spirit of loa in other to appease it for blessings.
Report has it that this type of festival coincides with christian celebrations because former slaves were banned from practicing it and they took advantage of the christian celebrations to disguise what they were celebrating.Most Haitians are known to be Catholics but a vast majority of the people still practice this form of worship.
There is a common saying about Haiti which is,''Haitians are 70% Catholics,30% Protestant and 100% voodoo.The worshipers are dressed in white for the ceremony,Goats and Cows are sacrificed to appease the gods after which they smear their bodies with the blood of the animals and later they dance in a sacred pool in an effort to invoke the spirits.
This type of festival also leads to wild sexual orgies after being hypnotized by the ''loa'' spirit.
The Protestants see their religion as a form of devil worship.
