A Plane Has Crashed Near A Superstore In Portugal

Report says a small Swiss registered plane crashed near a Lidl supermarket in Portugal killing all four people on board the plane and also a lorry driver whose truck was hit when the plane came down.

According to Portuguese media,the plane crashed in Tires just west of the capital Lisbon.Those involved in the mishap were,the Swiss pilot,three french nationals who were on board the plane the Portuguese truck driver who was offloading his cargo near the supermarket.

A spokesman for the local emergency services,Andre Fernades said:

''We can confirm five people died and four suffered slight injuries,three of whom were taken to the hospital.
''All the victims were adults.The dead include three french people and one Swiss national who were on the aircraft.The alert was sounded at six minutes past midday.''

A spokesman for Cascais Aerodrome said in a statement:

''Cascais Aerodrome can confirm that at 12:05 am local time,the flight of private operator Symbios Orthopedic,a P-31 light aircraft that had taken off from Cascais Aerodrome bound for Marseilles with three passengers and one crew member on board,suffered an accident outside of the aerodrome airspace.
''The aerodrome immediately activated its emergency plans and in this way activated an internal and external response to this accident.''

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa,the President of Portugal visited the scene of the incident and left without making any comments.
