PFN mandates Christian students in Secondary Schools to disassociate from imposed compulsory islamic studies

According to reports, the federal government of Nigeria led by the APC administration, has embarked on adding islamic studies to secondary schools curriculum thereby imposing or forcing the subject on Christian students.
In a meeting which was held in Lagos last week,Christian leaders under the aegis of PFN(Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria) kicked against this recent development and mandated all Secondary School Christian students in Nigeria to boycott, kick against and disassociate themselves from attending islamic classes.
Christian leaders at the meeting included,Pastor W.F. Kumuyi of the Deeper Life Church,Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church (Winners),Rev. Felix Omobude of the New Covenant Gospel Church and also the National President of the PFN,Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeem Christian Church of God,Bishop Mike Okonkwo of the  Redeemed Evangelical Mission.
A joint statement by the Men of God reads thus:
"We are aware of orchestrated plans to subtly use this this policy as a means of forceful religious indoctrination and we maintain our stand against it.
"Government has no right to force subject on any Nigerian child neither does it have the authority to drop Christian Religious Studies at the senior secondary school level while asking him or her to continue to read islamic studies which he or her cannot do at university level."
The Christian leaders however maintained that if Christian Religious Studies as a subject  is removed from school's curriculum, then islamic or Arabic studies must be removed as well.
