The Dan Masanin of Kano,Yusuf Maitama Sule has passed on

Alhaji Dr. Yusuf Maitama Sule,the Danmasanin Kano has died.He passed on earlier today,July 3rd 2017 at an Egyptian hospital were he was flown to over the weekend after a brief illness.


Dr. Maitama Sule who was known as a rhetorician and also a diplomat was born on October 1st 1929.He was the Federal Commissioner of Public complaints in 1976,a position he held seriously and diligently which led to the decline of corruption at that time.

The Nigerian politician,became a presidential candidate under the National Party of Nigeria in 1979 but unfortunately he lost the seat to Shehu Shagari.He was also Nigeria's representative to the United Nations in 1979 and was the chairman of a special committee against apartheid.

His famous quote amongst many others was this:

''Everyone has a gift from God.The Northerners are endowed by God with leadership qualities.

''The Yoruba man knows how to earn a living and has diplomatic qualities.The Igbo man is gifted in trade,commerce and technological innovation.

''God so created us equally with purpose and different gifts.''
