Avalanche Kills Six In Japan

An avalanche have claimed the lives of six Japanese high school students at a ski resort.The avalanche occurred on Monday morning at the Nasu Onsen ski resort in Tochigi prefecture,according to Japan's Kyodo news agency,six people were found with no vital signs and about 70 people were said to be in the area at the time the avalanche occurred.


Local media reports says the students were taking part in a large scale mountain climbing event which involved seven schools.

Rescue helicopters are already on the way but with bad weather conditions especially with the heavy snow,it will be an uphill task.The region has been hit with heavy snow for the past two days and avalanche warnings had been in effect.
