Ex NFL Player Commits Suicide In Prison

Aaron Hernandez,former NFL footballer was found dead in his cell in Massachusetts,the Massachusetts Department of Correction officials have confirmed his death on Wednesday.



According to reports,he blocked the door to his cell before hanging himself,all efforts made to revive him proved abortive,he was then taken to UMASS Leominster Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Aaron who is 27, was arrested in August 2013 in connection with the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd who was killed in June 2013.He was found guilty of the murder and sentenced in 2015 to life imprisonment.He was later found not guilty of a 2012 double murder and was acquitted on Friday.

According to Staffs at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, Massachusetts,they found Hernandez hanging in his prison cell at about 3:05 am and was taken to UMASS  Leominster hospital where he was confirmed dead at about 4:07 am.

The State Corrections Commission in statement said:

''Mr. Hernandez hanged himself utilizing a bed sheet that he had attached to his cell window.Mr Hernandez also attempted to block his door from the inside by jamming the door with various items.''
