The wristband is embedded with either a WRIXO QR matrix barcode or an NFC (Near Field Communication) chip which has a patient's unique ID and all that is required of the doctor or emergency responder is to scan the QR barcode on the wristband with their phones or by using an NFC enabled smartphone and all the information about the patient will be instantly accessed.

The device is ideal for children or the elderly and for anyone who has a medical condition.As a patient who wants to use the wristband,all you need to do is tap or scan your wristband with your mobile device,log into your account with a personal pass code and update the necessary information.

With the WRIXO wristband your privacy is 100 percent secure as the device is HIPAA compliant which means before any medical personnel or anybody can access your medical records they need to enter their phone numbers before a temporary PIN will be sent to them via sms which they can then use to access your information.

Other functions of the wristband includes,a feature which helps you to easily refill your prescription by just snapping your prescription with your smartphone camera and faxing it to your pharmacy and when you are ready to pick it up,it will be ready.

Once the patient has setup his or her account,an invite can then be sent to their doctors to upload the patient's medical information such as information about blood type,type of disease,prescriptions,X-Rays and detailed medical history that emergency responders can see and be able to evaluate and determine the most ideal treatment for the patient.
