Volvo set to launch electric cars from the year 2019

The Chinese car maker Volvo has announced that starting from 2019 all new Volvo car models are going to come with an electric motor thereby putting an end to internal combustion engine powered cars.


Chief Executive of Volvo,Hakan Samuelsson in a statement made this known on Wednesday stating that the future for electric powered cars is now.

''This announcement marks the end of the solely combustion engine powered car.People increasingly demand electrified cars and we want to respond to our customers current and future needs.''

The company however stated that between 2019 and 2021,Volvo car group will make available five electric models but will still make available combustion engines on older cars before that date.

Volvo is actually taking the bold step to reduce carbon emissions by 2019 and beyond thereby reducing greenhouse gases and emissions in our cities.About one million electric cars will be made available by Volvo till 2025.

Electric or hybrid cars run on electric motors which are propelled by electrical energy stored in batteries that can easily be recharged by electricity or solar energy thereby saving you from the cost of fuel,gasoline or diesel.
