About 22 people injured and one dead when a drunk driver rams into pedestrians at New York City's Time Square

A drunk driver who police have already identified as Richard Rohas,26 rammed his car into pedestrians on a side walk in New York City's Time Square leaving at least 22 people injured and killing one in the process.

The incident which happened just before noon,occurred at the corner of 45th street and Broadway.This has led the New York police department to seal off the entire area.

The driver initially wanted to escape but was later arrested and taken into custody.Police officers at the scene reported that the suspect was visually impaired and has a record of drunk driving and also,he has two DWIs(Drunk while driving)to his name from previous arrests.

According to reports,the incident was deliberate and intentional based on the fact that he told police after his arrest,''You were supposed to shoot me,i wanted to kill them.''.He was a former member of the military and was said to be smoking marijuana before the crash.

NYPD has confirmed that 22 people were hurt and four out of the 22 were critically injured with open fractures and traumas and three others were seriously injured.

The only dead victim in this tragic incident has been identified as 18 year old Alyssa Elsman of Portage,Michigan.
