A collapsed building in Lagos leaves 2 people dead and several injured

An unfortunate incident which happened on Monday at Daddy Alaja Street,Oke Arin on the Lagos Island saw a building that was been renovated collapsing suddenly,which led to the death of two people and injuring several others.


Based on reports,the collapsed building was a two storey building,the owner decided to raise it further,making it a three storey building.Unfortunately,the entire building came down with the occupants.

The two persons who died were identified as a male and female and others who sustained various forms of injuries were taken to the General Hospital on Lagos Island.Rescue teams from the Police force,fire service,LASEMA(Lagos State Emergency Management Agency)were on hand to give assistance.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN),about three buildings were reported to have collapsed in Ebute-Meta,IIasamaja and on the Lagos Island within the last three months leaving five people dead and over 40 people were rescued.
