An Indian man has gone missing while an American has died on Mount Everest

Expedition organizers have reported that an American has died near the summit of Mount Everest while an Indian climber is also reported missing after successfully ascending the mountain but when he was descending the mountain,he was no longer seen.

Based on reports, the American who is Roland Yearwood aged 50 from Georgia,Alabama died on top of the mountain on Sunday while the Indian,Ravi Kumar, was reported to have fallen sick when coming down from the summit on Saturday and was unable to reach the nearest camp, but his guide,a Nepalese Sherpa was able to make it to the camp.

According to Thupden Sherpa of the Arun Trek and Expedition:

''The guide also fell sick but he was able to drag himself to the last camp at South Col,located at 8,000 meters(26,247 feet)and he had frostbite and was hooked to oxygen bottles.''

A rescue team on an helicopter has headed out to locate and search for the missing climber. The Nepalese Tourism Department is said to have issued 37 permits this year alone to people mainly because climbers were unable to access the mountain in 2014 and 2015.

The reason been that an Avalanche killed about 19 climbers and also injured six in 2015 while 2014 an Avalanche also killed six Sherpa guides at the Khumbu Icefall.
