Missing Myanmar military plane crashes in the Andaman Sea

The military has confirmed that the Chinese made Y-8F-200 plane which took off yesterday from the southern town of Myeik at about 1:06 pm local time which was bound for Myanmar's largest city,Yangon was discovered to have crashed in the Andaman Sea.


According to detailed reports,about 10 bodies were found by rescuers which included children,pieces of luggage,safety jackets and also a tyre which is believed to be from the aircraft wheel.The commander in chief of the country has confirmed that the plane's wreckage was discovered by a team of navy search team on Thursday morning.

A spokesman for the military information team said thus:

''We have found the plane and some dead bodies this morning about 08:25 am.Some were on their way for medical checkups and to attend school.''

The military has confirmed that about 122 people were on board the flight which included about 15 children,58 civilian adults and the others were military personnel.

According to reports,this is the period of showers and thunderstorms in the region and there might be possibility of the storms being the cause for the plane's crash but based on earlier reports,there was no indication of a stormy weather at the very time the plane went missing.
