Instagram stories hits 250 million active users

Instagram stories which was an after thought of Snapchat Stories,was launched in August last year and since then,daily active users has reached 250 million.


The Facebook owned photo sharing service made this known on Tuesday and also announced that users can now share a replay of their live video to Instagram stories,allowing for followers and friends to catch what they might have missed.

''When your broadcast has ended,you will be able to tap 'Share' at the bottom of the screen to add your replay to Instagram Stories for 24hrs.
''You can also tap the toggle and choose 'Discard' and your live video will disappear from the App as usual.When someone you follow shares a replay,you will see a play button under their profile photo in the stories bar.
''Tap it to watch the video and see comments and likes from the original broadcast.You can also tap the right or left side of the screen to go forward or back 15 seconds or tap 'Send Message' to reply.''

This change will definitely see more folks broadcasting as it will enable for a much bigger audience since you can keep the video for 24 hours.

''If someone has shared multiple replays,you we see arrows at the top so you can easily jump between videos.And when watching your own replay,the number of viewers will include everyone who saw it live and in stories.''

The new features are available as an update on Instagram version 10.26 for Android and iOS.
