Ariana Grande concert in Manchester Arena leaves 22 dead and more than 59 injured
Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena yesterday evening has left no fewer than 22 people dead and leaving over 50 people including children injured.
The 23 year old singer had just finished performing on stage when explosions rang out through the arena.The arena which was packed full with mostly children and teenagers who had come to see her perform was left in a state of panic,confusion and tears.
As the explosion rang out,youngsters,teens and their parents were seen fleeing for their lives.The dastardly incident occurred at about 10:35pm yesterday and the Greater Manchester Police have confirmed 22 people dead and about 59 others injured.
Bomb disposal units,police cars and ambulances rushed to the scene of the blast immediately.Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police,Ian Hopkins said:
''We are currently treating this as a terrorist incident until we know otherwise.''
Ariana Grande later tweeted,''Broken,from the bottom of my heart, i am so,so sorry,i don't have words.''
According to eye witnesses, they said she had just finished performing and said 'Thank you'' when suddenly they heard a loud bang:
''Ariana Grande had just finished her last song and left the stage when a huge explosion sounded,suddenly everybody started screaming and running for the exit.We could hear the police and ambulance sirens,it was terrifying.''
Amber Rudd,Home Secretary said,''it was a barbaric attack,deliberately targeting some of the most vulnerable in our society.''
Theresa May also said,''We are working to establish the full details of what happened in Manchester.All our thoughts are with the victims and families of those who have been affected.''
