Google set to launch 360-degree camera Street View for personal imagery

Google in a blog post earlier today made known to it's users that the company was partnering with hardware companies to deliver high quality 360-degree cameras to enable users have a view of their own street view images.

Google also said the 'street view ready' certification standard will be in four different categories allowing for 20 new 360-degree cameras to meet any one of their standards or requirement.These cameras will be available this 2017 and it will give the user the 'flexibility to choose the best way to upload imagery based on your interests'.


The 4 'Street View Ready' categories as highlighted by Google:


1.Street View mobile ready:360 cameras that can publish Street View directly from a mobile app-without requiring a desktop workflow

2.Street View auto ready: 360 cameras tailored for vehicle-based collection with the highest accuracy

3.Street View vr ready:360 cameras or systems that collect geometry in addition to generating sets of connected 360 photos

4.Street View workflow ready:Publishing tools(sometimes bundled with cameras)that can upload to Street View accounts.


According to reports,Samsung and GoPro are already on their list of hardware companies as well as others soon to be announced.
