Two Men in the U.S have been stabbed while trying to intervene in an anti-Muslim abuse

Police in Oregon have reported an attack on a train at the Hollywood transit station when a man turned on two men who were trying to stop him from abusing two Muslim women.


The attacker violently turned on them and stabbed both men while another passenger was said to have been also injured before the attacker was apprehended.

One of the victims of the attack died on the spot and the other was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but he later died in the hospital.

The suspect have been identified by police as 35 year old Jeremy Joseph Christian and was arrested shortly before he got off the train.He was charged  with various offences which includes,attempted murder,intimidation,aggravated murder and being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon.

Sergeant Pete Simpson in a statement said:

''Suspect was on the train and he was yelling and ranting and raving a lot of different things,including what would be characterized as hate speech or biased language.

''In the midst of the ranting and raving,some people approached him,appeared to try to intervene with his behavior.

''Some of the people that he was yelling at,they were attacked viciously by the suspect,resulting in the two deaths and one injury.''

Eyewitnesses at the scene said the two people he was abusing were two teenage girls,one was black and the other was wearing a headscarf.
