Plane crashes in Spanhoe Airfield killing the pilot

A small plane crashed at the Spanhoe Airfield,near Corby,Northamptonshire yesterday shortly after take off at about 12:45 pm.


According to reports,the pilot died after the incident and a passenger on board the plane sustained serious injuries but was not life threatening.

Reports from Northamptonshire police indicates that,the plane crashed shortly after take off on Sunday and the passenger was immediately taken to the hospital after the crash.

''Sadly,the pilot died following the incident.A passenger sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by air ambulance for treatment.

''Police and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch are investigating the circumstances around the incident to understand the cause of the crash.''
