Two toddlers have died after their mother left them in a car for 15 hours
Two sisters,Brynn Hawkins aged one and Addyson Overgard-Eddy aged two were left in a car overnight by their mother,Amanda Hawkins who is aged 19 to party with her 16 year old male friend and other friends in a nearby house.
According to reports,her friends alerted her when the kids were crying but she totally ignored them.It was at noonday on Wednesday that she finally went for her kids only to find them unconscious and decided not to report the incident because she did not want to get into trouble.
Her male friend eventually convinced her that they must take the kids to the hospital which she later agreed to.The two toddlers were taken to Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrsville on Thursday but their condition was too bad that the hospital had to transfer them to the University Hospital in San Antonio.
The two sisters,Addyson and Brynn later died at about 5pm on Thursday.Amanda Hawkins was arrested in San Antonio and was charged with two counts of abandoning or endangering a child and if found guilty of the crime,she could be sentenced to two years in prison.
Amanda Hawkins who is from Kerr County,Texas has been accused for intentionally killing her kids whom she deliberately left in the car from Tuesday night until Wednesday afternoon to party with her friends.
The Kerr County Sheriff W.R. Hierholzer in a statement said:
''She left them in the car,intentionally in the car while her and the 16 year old male friend were in the house.
''They were in the house all night.The male friend for a little bit went to sleep in the car a little while but then went back to the house.
'This is by far the most horrific case of child endangerment that i have seen in the 37 years that i have been in law enforcement.''
