Afghan bomb blast kills 34 people outside a bank in Helmand
A car bomb blast outside a bank in Lashkar Gah,southern Afghan province of Helmand in Afghanistan has led to the killing of about 34 persons and injuring about 58 others who were waiting outside the bank to collect their pay.
According to reports,those affected in blasts were security forces and civilians who were shopping for the Muslim Eid celebrations.The car bomb was detonated at the gate of the new Kabul bank branch and the Taliban has already claimed responsibility for the car bomb blast.
A spokesman for the police,Salam Afghan while speaking with the AFP said:
Those injured were immediately rushed to the hospital as cars were destroyed and smoke filled the entire area.This isn't the first time an incidence of this magnitude is happening,it's almost a recurrent happening each time civilians and military personnel queue up at banks to receive their pay.
