Michael Nyqvist has passed on at 56
Michael's representative in a statement while announcing his death said:
''On behalf of Michael Nyqvist's representative and family,it s with deep sadness that i can confirm that our beloved Michael,one of Sweden's most respected and accomplished actors has passed away quietly surrounded by family after a year long battle with lung cancer.
''Michael's joy and passion were infectious to those who knew and loved him.His charm and charisma were undeniable and his love for the arts was felt by all who had the pleasure of working with him.''
Michael was also known to have played in American films alongside Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves in 'Mission Impossible:Ghost Protocol' and 'John Wick'.
The Actor who won many awards in his life time was educated at the school of Drama in Malmö and his very first breakthrough was in the year 2000 with the film,'Together'.
He was awarded best male actor at the Swedish Oscar in 2002,Film Star of the year 2002-2004,best male actor at the International Film Festival in Minsk 2006 and best male supporting actor at the Guldbagge Gala this year amongst others.
He is survived by his wife,Catharina Ehrnrooth and two children,Arthur and Ellen.
