Mogadishu attack leaves 10 people dead

An attack by the Shabaab Islamists group on Tuesday led to the death of about ten persons in the Somali capital of Mogadishu  when a minibus filled with explosives was driven by the terrorists into local government offices.


A statement by Ahmed Mohamud Mohamed who is the spokesman for the security ministry said:

''More than 10 people died in the blast which was carried out by the Shabaab group and nine others are wounded,most of the dead were civilians.''

Based on reports,security guards at the office tried to stop the bus but the Islamists drove in at top speed and the vehicle blew up.

About 18 other persons were said to be badly injured and due to the explosions,some persons were burnt beyond recognition.The terrorist group which is linked with Al-Qaeda have claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement which was carried by the SITE intelligence agency.
