Several wounded at Munich railway station

Police have reported the shooting of a female officer at the Unterfohring under ground station in Munich following an argument that ensued between passengers on a train.


Officers arrived at the scene after reports were made of an argument,on arrival the gunman tried pushing them on to the tracks and suddenly he grabbed the female officer's gun and shot her on the head.

He also fired shots at bystanders which injured many but were not life threatening.According to police,the female officers wounds are serious and life threatening.

The suspect was arrested and detained immediately following a shoot out by other officers.Police say the attack is not terror related and that the area was immediately secured.

A police spokesman  said the attack was a personal vendetta:

''The sole male perpetrator was motivated by personal reasons.There is no political or religious background here.''
