Boko Haram militants invade the city of Maiduguri
Reports coming in says the Boko Haram militant group have laid siege on the city of Maiduguri on Wednesday evening attacking the Giwa military barracks thereby causing fear and panic among residents.
The militant group shot sporadically in the city leaving many of the residents fleeing for their lives.A young girl was among those struck by the stray bullets.The attack was carried out at the Jiddari Polo area of Maiduguri just a few kilometers from the Government Reserved Area.
The Army in a quick response,however repelled the Boko Haram attackers and in a statement issued by the Army through it's spokesman Sani Usman,he said the troops neutralized the Boko Haram gunmen.
Security presence in the area have been beefed up and according to the Army,the situation is now under control.This attack is said to be the most deadliest of attacks since the military took over the city from the hands of the dreaded terrorists which has left more than 100,000 people loosing their lives.

''In a merciless operation,Nigerian troops have neutralized Boko Haram gunmen who attempted to attack Jiddari Polo community in Maiduguri,the Borno state capital.
''There was an attempt by a few suspected Boko Haram to attack Jiddari Polo and all have been neutralized.Situation cool and calm.''
