A building in Nairobi have collapsed killing a child and leaving several injured
According to reports,an eight storey building has collapsed in Nairobi,Kenya leaving a baby girl dead and about two others missing.The unfortunate incident which occurred late Monday night saw angry residents throwing stones at police because of the slow response of government rescuers.
Police however used tear gas to disperse the angry residents.A resident speaking with the Associated Press however made it known that the very building had been marked for demolition by the National Construction Authority.
According to Pius Mwachi who is the National Disaster Management Unit Deputy Director:
Prior to this collapse,President Uhuru Kenyatta already gave orders that all buildings in Kenya be checked to see if they are up to standard and based on the National Construction Authority's report,about 58% of buildings are unsafe for dwelling.

''One man was believed to be missing.Due to delicate operations because of space to operate in,it may take more time.
''There are other buildings surrounding the collapsed building,one of them is weak and denying us space.''
