Lebanon has banned the Wonder Woman film

The new movie,'Wonder Woman',which sees Gal Gadot as the lead actress has been banned by the country's interior ministry based on the fact that the actress is an Israeli.


The ministry issued an order banning the movie from showing across 15 theaters  in Lebanon after a group made a protest on Facebook,'Campaign to Boycott Supporters of Israel-Lebanon',stating that Gal Gadot who played the lead actress was a soldier in the Israeli army for two years and also supported the army's policies against Gaza Strip.

''#Lebanon: Playing a film #WonderWoman in which she is featured(as the main actress)is against the Lebanese law.In addition she supported the Israeli army during its attack against on Gaza,served in the Israeli army for 2 years(as Israel's usually do),and boasted about the army training her for Hollywood. Gal Gadot.''

Israel and Lebanon have been at loggerheads and Lebanon issued a law prohibiting it's citizens from travelling or even have any dealings with the Israelis.

Gal Gadot who is 32,served in the army when she was just 20 and she was also Miss Universe in 2004.According to the distributor of the movie,Tony Chacra of Joseph Chacra & Sons:

''It cost money and advertising,everything was going normally until a few days ago when a campaign began.They are not harming anyone by banning it,except the distributor.

''They are making the movie theaters lose the employees,the Lebanese economy,what did they get out of this?.''
