At least 36 bodies recovered from Resorts World Manila
The attack which unfolded at the Resorts World Manila in the Philippine capital,Manila yesterday, saw a gunman attacking the complex and started shooting from the casino area with an assault rifle shortly after midnight.
The attack which caused panic amongst the guests,saw a security lock down of the entire building by police officers.The police authorities initially said there was no casualties but about 36 bodies were later found after thorough search.
According to police,the 36 dead persons,suffered from suffocation after the gunman had set fire on the casino tables and was later discovered to have killed himself in one of the room.
According to Tomas Apolinario,Southern Police District Superintendent:
About 50 people were taken to the hospital to be treated for various forms of injuries and fractures and police have insisted that the gunman acted alone and was not in any way connected to a terrorist group.

''We have some injured people and we have some dead as well but none of them have gunshot wounds.He fired into the air,not at people but it caused fear.''
