How to mark yourself safe using Facebook Safety Check

Facebook has activated the safety check feature for the London Terror attack which has claimed the lives of seven persons and left about 48 people injured.

Facebook safety check was first introduced in 2011 and was put into use during the 2015 Nepal Earthquake.When safety check is activated,Facebook sends users who they know live in the affected area,a push notification,prompting the user to mark him or herself as safe.

The user can check in or ignore the notification.Those that check in as safe,will send a notification to friends and family alerting them that he or she is safe.

Through the page,users can also lend a helping hand to anyone in need by going to the Facebook safety check page and provide any help such as food,shelter,transport or medicare.
