Too much salt intake maybe dangerous for you!

The excessive intake of salt can lead to hypertension which is the result of many cardiovascular diseases.Reports and studies have shown that too much salt consumption is not good nor healthy for the body.

Salt makes our foods tastier, there is no doubt about that but when it comes to moderation,it should be used moderately.Too much salt intake tends to store more water in the body thereby raising our blood pressure.

If the blood pressure is very high,it also has a strain on the heart, kidneys, arteries and the brain, all these can in turn lead to kidney failure, stroke and dementia.

Research have shown that children are also not left out from taking excessive salt. The seasoning that comes with noodles which children consume on a daily bases contains salt,so,parents should try and control or limit the consumption of the intake of noodles on a daily bases.

The average recommended dosage of salt intake per day is 1500 milligram and the maximum is 2300 milligram per day.The intake of salt cuts across all boundaries, whether be it Africa,India or America we should limit the intake of salt to prevent hypertension, high blood pressure, blocked arteries and so on.

According to a report in India,Indians believe that when the weather is warm and they sweat a lot, through the process of sweating the body looses a lot of salt and so the need to consume excess salt .Reports have shown that this believe is totally wrong, the body only requires a little amount of sodium per day.

According to Pawan Kumar Agarwal,C.E.O of food safety and standards authority of India:
''Our new guidelines which should come into effect in a few months, will make it mandatory for packaged food labels to list their salts/sodium and other nutrients content,in total and against the recommended daily value.''
